Publicly reported holdings. Clearly stated limits.
01Reported holdings.
Government balances come from identified public reports. Source details identify approximate amounts and third-party wallet estimates. Seized assets in custody may be included and are described at country level. Private citizens, exchange customer deposits and estimates of national adoption are excluded.
02Businesses, by headquarters.
The switch adds selected companies’ own assets, assigned once to the parent group’s operating headquarters. Country and territory entries include Hong Kong separately. It does not cover every company. These assets belong to the companies, not the government. ETF and custodian client holdings are excluded. Disclosed company-owned pledged, lent and staked assets can be included; indirect liquidity-pool exposure and liquid-staking or restaking receipt-token equivalents are excluded. Entity notes identify restrictions.
03Two different clocks.
Holdings are curated disclosure snapshots, with dates on every source. USD valuations apply one price snapshot to these balances. They are indicative valuations, not synchronized live balances. Prices are a dated snapshot, refreshed separately from holdings.
04Gaps stay visible.
A dash means an amount is not verified in this dataset. Totals sum only known amounts. Country ranks and percentages compare the selected dataset, not all global holdings. Including businesses can create partial country totals.
